Newly remodeled rooms - excellent! Nice amenities.
I have stayed in the past at this property - it has greatly improved and it was a pleasure being there! The rooms were nicely done! Would like a recliner instead of a non-mobile chair.

Location. Room requested was provided.
Adjoining restaurant was very expensive but lovely.
Staff was very accommodating to our request for a room in the back to avoid highway noise. Continental breakfast offered a variety of fresh food and produce. We'll definitely return!

Convenient location, complimentary breakfast.
Did not provide non smoking room. Came into my room in spite of do not disturb sign at the door.
I was checking in on time (the check in starts at 2:00 pm and I was checking in at 3:00pm). He first said that I can/will go into any room. I said "only if you have a reason to believe there is a problem with the guest and/or room". He then said that he would investigate the situation and get back to me. I never heard from him (it has been over 6 weeks since).

It was average.
Too close to freeway, very small bathroom.
Hotel check-in is literally 30 feet from Hwy. 101. Rooms are probably 100' with no sound wall. Traffic can be heard in front bldg. rooms. Restaurant band/DJ playing Friday night was louder than the hwy. traffic and played until midnight. Upon arrival was placed in a smoking room with 2 double beds. Request non-smoking king. King bed not available but was moved to a non-smoking room with double beds. Hotel was older with some updates. Brick rooms were cold and had to run wall mounted window unit all night. Unit was noisy & not thermostat controlled. Bathroom was very small for one person, not acceptable for two travelers. Inn Marin webpage advertises it has a three diamond AAA rating. Check-in lobby displayed a one diamond AA placque. The Inn Marin does not compare to the Courtyard. The Inn Marin is a 1 1/2 star property at best. read more

Decent lobby.
This hotel is right next to Freeway without any sound wall - just a cheap wire fence. Very noisy - you cannot even talk while walking to the Registration lobby. Feels like you are standing in the emergency freeway lane - yes that close! Landscaping on the property is very substandard. Makes it feels more like a cheap highway motel! Building is very old, though the rooms and bathrooms were clean. Claims to be owner operated. Well the Owners should consider some low cost investment in landscaping and a sound wall that could easily give this place a very nice rustic character. read more

The front desk staff was helpful and friendly.
Highway noises prevent any meaningful sleep from happening.
If sleep is what you are after from a hotel, then unfortunately, the Marin Inn feel short. Even with ear plugs in, the freeway noise was unrelenting. The location was easy to get to and the staff was friendly, but I left the next day in desperate need of a night's sleep.

Exquisite lush grounds and lobby, ambience in credible at restaurant.
Bumbling staff recording my booking in correctly, tried to double bill me, food atrocious at lovely restaurant.
Inn Marin is suffering from growing pains. They've made the grounds incredibly romantic and lush, and the lobby and restaurant (Rickey's) are aesthetically delightful. The bumbling hotel staff and amateur chef do not match the lovely exteriors. The rooms are only marginal in appearance and comfort. There is a very loud freeway just outside, and the back of the hotel, where you enter your room, does not feel safe at night. I think they'll grow in to themselves, though. I will give them another shot, but not until 2008. They need some time to get It together. read more
