Great rooms convenient location.
Under renovations, make shift lobby.

The hotel was undergoing major renovations and was a bit inconvenient but we only stayed one night so not a big deal.

Beautiful decoration, the room was very nice and pleasant.
The reception was chaotic, there where long lines to check in and check out.

The room was wonderful, the hotel is very well located, but the reception was terrible. Long lines to check in and check out, and a long time to wait to get to your room. We almost lost an appointment because we had to wait for more than 30 minutes in the reception. I understand they are still going through renovations, but there was not personal enough to help the clients.

Convenient location; friendly staff; great room.

We arrived late and left early the next day. Staff were extremely helpful. Room is spacious and beds are comfortable. The staff made our trip a lot easier.

The bell boys were all very nice, the booking staff should learn from them.
Insects in the lobby, rude booking staff, no view from room.

Having stayed at hotels all over the world we can tell you that this compared to a holiday inn from the 80's. Someone is trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Not a five star. If you are like us and are trying to get a good deal on a downtown location be weary as the intercontinental is not right in the Hotspot, and claims to be 5 star.

Renovations were still not completed.

We checked into the hotel early and had no problems. In fact we were upgraded to a deluxe king room with a beautiful view of the park & fountain. It was clean, located in close proximity to old Montreal and walkable to where we wanted to go. We will definitely stay again.

The renovated rooms are very nice & high tech.
The hotel lobby, front desk and common areas are still under construction.

The InterCon is a very nice hotel, and even better after the renovations. The staff is attentive without being intrusive. The room amenities included an iPod docking stereo, 40+" flat screen TV, safe and mini-bar. The only issues were the mini-bar auto-charges the room if an item is moved, and the wireless was so bad that I plugged in the cable.
