Description of Island Inn
The historic Island Inn was established in 1895 as a bed and breakfast on the Gulf shores of Sanibel Island. Small white cottages still sit along side the newly renovated lodges. As a Sanibel Island landmark- the new decor enhances the heritage of the Inn. The Gulf view lobby- dining room and library are adorned with collections of treasured shells- photos and memorabilia. The library of books to borrow and games for kids.
Would like to have central place to weigh suitcase now that there are such strict limits on bags when flyling.

Quiet in the off-season when we were there. Beach was not crowded and hotel had beach chairs to take down to the beach area. Very clean pool area. Rooms were kept in good supply of towels, etc. Nice view of the gulf from our room. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

It was just like old southern hopitality, just great.

The hotel was great it was clean and very friendly, the food was
great, the service was very good. The location was good and all wishes were met with a nod and taken care of right away not 2 hours from then as is some. Over all it was a very good and relaxing time.

This was an absolutely great place. Everyone of the staff was helpful and friendly. It was spotless in every area.
I loved everything about this place!

This is an absolutely great, hidden jewel. It is like staying on the Edison-Ford compound! It is quaint yet modern and extremely clean. I have recommended it to everyone since I have been there. A wonderful place.

There was nothing open, restaurants, shops, etc.

This hotel is not good to go to during April thru November.

Quaint, perfect for short relaxing vacation. Liked the furniture.
Rooms could use some updating - the carpet specifically. Bathroom was a bit dingy.

The location was great, on one of the best stretch of beach on the Island.
The decor was kind of golden girls meets retirement home.

Over all we were happy with every thing. It had a great location on the beach, and was close to the shopping and wildlife reserves. The grounds were clean and well maintained, however it could use some updating. It’s hard to have a romantic getaway when you feel like your sleeping in your grandmother’s house.
