Jameson Inn Hickory

On weekdays, there were many working men staying about four to a room. Some up late and all up very early, slamming doors, cranking trucks, filling coolers with ice. Ice machine was right next to our room. Heating and cooling system was noisy.

Good for business traveler or short stay.

a great inexpensive place to stop over for a night, breakfast and staff very good. it was a bargain for the price.

This Jameson is clearly meant for travelers staying a single night. More a motel than a hotel, the Jameson Hickory is of an older design with exterior corridors and exterior staircases. While it does feature a pool and wireless internet, the WiFi was spotty. When it was operable it provided a slow connection, but a connection nonetheless. The front desk staff when I checked in was amply pleasant, however on check out, a different staff member was difficult, brusque to the point of rudeness, and left me with a bad opinion of the hotel. Overall it was a quiet, comfortable room. A breakfast buffet is offered which we did not take advantage of, and each room features a micro fridge, other than that, amenities are your standard - TV and coffee maker. I have never stayed at a Jamison Inn before. I had some doubts about what our experience would be like before we arrived. We stayed just one night but it was a pleasant experience all around. We did realize that there would be a continental breakfast provided and that it was included in the price. That was a very pleasant surprise. I'm happy with it because it is clean and provides many free services such as internet, parking and breakfast. Though it's not spacious, it's a good place to stay for one night at an affordable price.
