Balcony off each room.
Inability to get a hold of the hotel for shuttle pickup at the train station.
Typical hard Japanese beds, very convenient to the train and subway station, spacious rooms, must pay to use the pool.

My room looked like it was out of the 70s.
I am sure this was a nice hotel 20 years ago, but now it is pretty run down.

Excellent service, rooms had balcony, mirror dresser, and other wonderful amenities.
Lack of internet connection in the room.
The New Prince Takinawa is an excellent stay for anyone, convenient, and comfortable rooms. The staff was very friendly when i checked in; they helped with bags and even escorted me to my room. Rooms were surprisingly spacious for a hotel in Japan, came furnished with a mirrored makeup table for the ladies, and a balcony overlooking a garden. There was also a small mini fridge, hair dryer, and yukatas(Japanese PJ's) in the drawers. The hotel is located 2 blocks away from Shinagawa Train Station which provided transportation to almost anywhere in Tokyo as well as a wide assortment of shops and restaurants in and around the station. The neighborhood felt quiet and safe, very busy in the mornings. There is even a hotel shuttle that will take you from the hotel to Narita Airport for 3000 yen (about $30) a person. Only gripe I have with the hotel is the lack of Internet access, as there is no wired or wireless Internet in the guest rooms. Internet access was only available in the business center.

Beautiful Japanese garden between anexes, great gym, large room for Japan.
Fantastic rate for area and it does not skip a beat in offering amenities. The gym has a charge, not unusual in Japan, but the facility and saunas, steam and whirlpool make it worthwhile, especially for those who suffer severe jetlag. Short walk to major station, entertainment for families and shopping. Rooms slightly larger than more expensive neighbor hotels.

The location and the view from the room was great.
The lobby is a little too institutional.
A very large complex of hotels with many large groups a little like a hotel factory.
A good room in a great location.I love the toilets that come standard with most rooms in Japan. Heated seats with a great spray device, plus a couple other options.Great views from the higher floors.

The staff was very polite and helpful.
The furnishings in the room and the bed spreads seemed old and
not very modern.

Location and Staff was amazing!
Unable to have family (4 persons) in one room - restaurants very expensive.
Hotel staff and facilities were 1st class. A short walk to major jr train station and nice, reasonable restaurants. Business center allows 10min of free email a day. A great experience - would recommend it highly.

Clean and friendly staff.
Not a 4 star hotel.
This hotel is adequate, not great. It's definitely not a 4-star hotel. It was clean and staff was friendly. It was very close to the train station but a little hard to find.

Japanese Garden, Tea Garden, Spa and Gym.
Furniture, Bed, Felt like I was on a ocean liner.
Ok if you are traveling through Japan on a budget, however, if you are looking for luxurious expatriate accommodations, you will not find it.
