Bed was comfy.
The bathroom reminded me of a motel 6.
The bed was nice, the bathroom was a motel 6 and I had to pay $24 extra per night to park my car.

Location convenient to Japantown.
Bed was like sleeping on Jello--no support!
Good location convenient to Japantown but safety concerns at night. Parking expensive and limited in the hotel garage. Room was cozy but no flat screen and fridge wouldn't fit in cabinet so it sat outside in the room space. Saw photos that show rooms with flat screens, but we didn't get one. Liked having a safe and the small walk-in closet.

Staff was very professional and friendly!
Parking was $24.00 for one day!
Great location if you need access to downtown area.

Location, garden.
No pool.
Very nice hotel in great location, beautiful garden, nice rooms and a 3 star room for a one star price!

The gardens were beautiful and the location in Little Tokyo.
The guestrooms were outdated and small.
The staff was okay, the hotel itself was okay, the room was okay, everything was just okay, nothing spectacular, definitely not a 4 star hotel (even though by definition it is, but it is not in terms of luxury). We did not have a bad experience, but it was not as good as we had expected.

Nice bar downstairs and close to the University.
Parking in the Parking Lot cost 24.00 a day and I didn't know that when I booked the hotel.
I won't stay at this hotel again. I will go to the bar and have a drink. The lady bartener was wonderful. The rooms were very small and the shower tile was still the old pink tiles. No electrical plugins close to the bathroom.

Centrally located.
Near skid row: poor parking structure.
Was not aware that we were w/in blocks of skid row with 4 teenagers and a detention center down the street. Parking structure was horrible. Did not get the adjoining rooms as requested which was a disaster.

Staff was uniformly professional and pleasant.
I was trying to get a hotel closer to Hollywood but got upgraded to this one which was fine, but less convenient.
The Kyoto Hotel is very well kept and has a very professional pleasant staff. The public areas were very nice but the rooms were a little dated. I've grown accustomed to wonderful beds at hotels, so I was disappointed in the beds and bedding at the Kyoto (which were really absolutely fine, but not luxurious!). I knew that there would likely be an extra parking charge ($24 per night), so I planned to park across the street for $15 per night; however, the attendant across the street indicated it wasn't particularly safe, so I elected to spend the extra money for the hotel garage. After 4 nights in the Los Angeles area, though, I realized everything is high there. If I returned to LA, I would try to find a hotel closer to the areas of interest for us (generally not the downtown area). read more
