Strong, pungent odor in the hotel room. Very unfriendly staff.

While the hotel exterior and location overlooking the river are quite nice, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room had a strong, sharp odor and the sheets/bedding had clearly been used in a smoking room previously. The front desk clerk was very unfriendly, not rude, but we definitely felt as though we were inconveniencing him when we checked in. Quite unpleasant.

Beautiful setting on the lake with nice trails along the water.
Small lobby.

Beautiful location on the lake right in Old Town Folsom. Lots of quaint shops. Great hiking and biking trails along the lake. Clean and comfortable room. My wife and I enjoyed our stay here.

Location is adjacent to excellent cycling and running trails along the American River.
Rooms are dated, walls are thin.

Location is wonderful along American River. So if you enjoy cycling or running, this is the place to be. However, rooms are dated and walls are thin. This is a moderate to economy level hotel.

It was quiet and very empty of guests.
Entering the hotel complex in an automobile is roundabout and requires at least two tries to gain entry the first time.

The hotel was OK and clean but a three star facility it was not. It is old and in need of a major refurbishment. Again my main complaint was the over rating and the resultant disapointment.
