Reminded us of New England. It was a charming Vermont-type establishment.
The grounds were lovely. Several buildings. The lobby was large, with wood floors, lovely furnishings, very charming! The veranda overlooked the pond across the way. The staff, including the owner, were all very friendly and accommodating.

The grounds are charming and
the lake beautiful.
The hotel is on a beautiful lake and the grounds are nice. However, the hotel is in major need of repair. We booked 6 rooms and all had major problems. A few examples-2 rooms with no heat (cold snap in Florida...40s),very noisy plumbing with varying water temps as you showered, torn and missing curtains, worn carpet and furniture with many things held together by duct tape. Plus unfriendly staff. read more

Very nice ambiance - historically significant.
Our room at least could use a make-over.
The hotel itself is wonderful, though our room was slightly disappointing. Everything you need is close by, the staff was friendly.

The hotel was old-Florida charming!
The water pressure was not good.
This hotel is like a resort of days gone by - the main lobby is open and airy, and looks out over the Lake Dora. My room had high ceilings, a closet large enough to sleep in, and plush fluffy towels. All the staff, from the waitresses to the desk staff were friendly and professional.

The charm and the views.
Needs a face lift!
I love the charm of this hotel and I love the town. It's a bit old and in need of some repairs but to me the charm out weighs those issues.

Great location for shopping area and Christmas lights were great and ghost tour was fun. Beautiful sunsets on lake.
Shower nozzle had no pressure hard to rinse hair.

The location and site was good. Restaurant was very good.
The place was shabby, needs many repairs, rooms were musty. I had a hard time with my breathing, checked out early.
In terrible need of updating would only return when completed. No elevators, many stairs, no bellmen on and on.

Loved the old building.
The carpets didn't seem very clean in my room.
The hotel had a lot of things to do for the family, walking distance to shops in mount Dora and a great view of the lake.
