The location.
Mildew smell.
Although this hotel is in a very good location, I can not recommend it because of the mildew smell.

The art work in the hotel.
This is a very quiet , pleasant place to stay in Puerto Vallarta. Close to the beach, great food and coffee. Beds are very comfortable.

Very pleasant restaurant and bar right on the beach. Great Guacamole, chips, salsa and Sol beer.
Old and needs a modern high tech upgrade.
Los Arcos is right on the beach in the romantic zone. Many restaurants and bars within walking distance. Great in hotel restaurant on the beach. Fine, gourmet restaurant with indoor and sidewalk tables.

I loved the decor and about 1/2 of the staff was
very nice.
It had very musty and moldy smell. The smell still permeates my clothes.
I think it's a very lovely hotel (set of three) in the old Vallarta area - and its nice being right off of the ocean. It seemed that about 1/2 of the staff was very nice and friendly and the remaining just following through on what they needed to do. The spa services were very nice, reasonable and professionally performed! And, it was nice having a kitchenette. The cleaning staff did an excellent job of making the room clean and inviting (folded towels in different shapes were very nice). The key drawback in the hotel was the incredible mustiness - which I was told wouldn't necessarily be any better in another room. It seems to come from the air/heating vents - if the windows are open, it's much better. read more

The staff was helpful and very friendly.
We saw a couple of cockroaches.
We weren't sure about the location at first, since it was in the older part of the town. The local people were so friendly though, we decided we liked being in that section of town. We could also walk everyone we wanted to go, including the Malecon.
