Romantic Castle atmosphere.
Very remote from Edinburgh-public transportation was a pain.
Located on Outskirts of Edinburgh with a bus line that ran about every 30 minutes. Scenery was beautiful and the grounds well kept. Food was good but prices outlandish. Room was very clean but no AC. Front desk personnel were terrific with any requested assistance. Limited TV channel options.

It was the perfect treat after spending 3 nights in a hostel.
There was no hotel shuttle to the airport.

Staff, breakfast, dinner, grounds were all excellent.
Coffee shop was fair to poor.
Excellent staff, beautiful grounds, delicious breakfast and dinner, very comfortable room. Not so nice was the coffee shop - just avoid it.

It was a beautiful historic hotel close to the airport.
It was really hard to find by the directions.
The hotel staff was very helpful. They actually went with us in the hotel van to drop off our rental car so they could drive us back to the hotel. Top notch service. I would recommend this hotel if you need to stay close to the airport. Make sure you get directions first.

The location is beautiful.
Older decor.
Situated in the beautiful countryside outside of Edinburgh, this hotel provides great rooms, a golf course, and the hospitality of the Scottish people.

Medieval ambiance with the room standard & quality of a Marriott hotel.
The cab ride from hotel to city center is very expensive.
This hotel is convenient to the airport and has a complimentary shuttle. The hotel is in a beautiful golf course setting and has the medieval ambiance of a 300 year old manor house. The rooms live up to the Marriot standard in terms of comfort and quality. The staff is extremely professional and the concierge desk really goes out of their way to help with all needs. We loved our stay there! read more

Beautiful, well-tended landscapes great for walks.
My husband's $24.00 hamburger!
This is a lovely place to stay, but is a bit hard to find from the Edinburgh airport. Once you arrive, it is good value.

Fitness facilities were first rate.
Location - It is a golf resort way out of town - $32 taxi from the Train Station.
It is a golf resort and they play even in the winter. I was relegated to an interior courtyard view - although they say the hotel has great "views". It is quite a distance from Downtown Edinburgh and I believe it should not be listed in the Edinburgh area as it is so far out. I ended up taking the free shuttle that was provided quite conveniently to the airport then taking an express bus downtown as I could not justify $35 one way each time I wanted to go downtown. If you have a car it is probably more convenient. Meals were pricey and a little underwhelming. read more

Staff was very friendly and helpful.
It is a long way from Edinburgh if you don' t drive.
Hotel Dalmahoy is a very nice place with beautiful grounds, a great gym, pool, sauna, and steam room. Unfortunately, for us we didn't drive (wrong side of the road). It is quite away from Edinburgh (about 40 minutes by bus).
