The service was outstanding and food exceptional.
Fine for us, but not for those who can't walk far.

This property is in a beautiful setting, full of history. Its specialty is offering places to relax, talk, sip a drink or just stare at the bay. Plenty of activities for elementary-aged children, though teens may not like the slower pace. Excellent place for couples. Fishing pier is a highlight, as is the pool. The adult-only pool option is a big plus. Attendants at the pool to bring drinks and food are very nice. Lots of trees make it comfortable even on hot days. The staff is superb. The grounds are sprawling, so not everything is perfectly manicured and you must walk a lot. The property is not well marked, but you can figure it out. Might be a little confusing/frustrating to elderly visitors. Free bikes and room to ride is fun, along with croquet, putting green, etc. Just a great place. read more

Great pool and beach for weekend getaway with the family.
Evening dining in the hotel was overpriced for mediocre food.

We love this hotel and have stayed here several times. Breakfast is awesome in the dining room, pool side service is nice. We don't mind paying top dollar for a great meal - but both times we've tried dining in the hotel for dinner - it was average. This last stay we were in the Spa Building for the first time and found the beds to be uncomfortable.
