A renovation of this nonsmoking waterfront chain link means you'll get rooms with "nice big" "flat-screen TVs", "small balconies" and "comfortable beds", plus, in some cases, "great views of the sunset" and Mt. Hood; while little details like "platters of delicious Fuji apples in the lobby" are appreciated, the "unnecessary" "nickel-and-diming" ($10 for WiFi access, $23-per-day for parking) are definitely not.

We liked the bedding and pillows and the room smelled nice.
Reasonable parking onsite $30! We parked at a garage the next block over.

Great location and close to the street car. Our room had an amazing view of Mt. Hood.
We were supposed to get the USA Today, but hotel ran out.

The hotel staff were very accommodating and courteous.

I have come to expect a certain standard of service and care when staying at a Marriott hotel and was not disappointed at the Portland Marriott Downtown Riverfront. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great room for the rate. Tram stop is only a few blocks away.
Location is downtown, so not much to do after 5:00.

Nice hotel overall with clean public areas, a large room and all of the standard 4 star amenities. Wi-Fi in the room is not free, but you can use it in the lobby for free and afterward it will work in the room for 24 hours. Tram line is about 5 blocks away and within the fee-free zone, so that was cool. Not too far to walk to the pearl district for drinks/dinner. Check out the Rogue Pub or Tugboat Brewery, if you like beer, but I'll admit I'm young and like to walk places. read more

Big, sound proof, and fast service.
The two beds they provide are quite small. I was expecting 2 queen size bed.

Besides the beds being small, everything else was excellent. I would totally recommend for any type of traveler.

Right by the freeway, so you don't have to go through too much traffic to get there.
Was not near any shopping.

Amazing view, beds and drinks.
