Friendly staff.
Charged 25.00 for parking per day.
It was a huge disappointment. The hotel charged 25.00 a day for parking which made the rate average.

Location to Alamo and Riverwalk was great!
Outdated furnishings, small rooms, haunted history.
The history was pretty cool. There were pictures in the lobby of all the people who stayed there. But the rooms and bathrooms were tiny. We reserved a single king room, they don’t have king beds. Our bed was full size which is smaller than a queen. Also it was lacking electrical outlets. The haunted history scared my wife. We didn’t experience anything unusual though. Honestly if you are just there for a weekend to enjoy the sites, it’s a good hotel. But we bid for a 3.5* and we were disappointed. read more

This hotel was awesome!! It has a lot of history and was really close to a lot of attractions. We had a lot of fun.
This hotel had a lot of history. The bar in the hotel is a nice touch. Kids enjoyed the pool and had a lot of fun. I think the best thing about this hotel besides the beauty and history that it had was the great location it's in. Right in front of everything. Great for tourist looking not to drive too far.

Beautiful, old hotel, comfortable room, antiques, balcony.
The Menger Hotel is a beautiful, old hotel built in 1859 just off the Riverwalk and across the street from the Alamo. The public areas of the hotel include a gourmet type restaurant, a beautiful swimming pool, and tropical garden. The lobby extends all the way up the hotel with fantastic old paintings, antiques, and a huge stained glass ceiling. In the hallways there are pictures of famous Americans including General Robert E. Lee, General Sherman, Colonel Teddy Roosevelt, and many, many others. The rooms are comfortable with tasteful period decorations, and antiques mixed with contemporary pieces made to blend with antiques. Some of the rooms have balconies overlooking the quaint streets of the Riverwalk area. They are enclosed with black ironwork railings. It is a wonderful place to celebrate something special. We celebrated our 32nd anniversary with our stay read more

Great location and historic.
Restaurant was expensive.
All and all it was a GREAT value and great location. Next to the Alamo and one block from the Riverwalk. Rooms were a little small and dated but that goes with the charm of being at a Historic Hotel. Swiming pool was nice for the kids but not heated so very cold in March. Its a great brake from the chain hotels. Would definately go back!

The hotel was close to Alamo and Riverwalk. Loved the history.
Rooms were
small, shower water temp varied rapidly and often.
I would definitely recommend per its location and history. Although the room was small, it overlooked the Alamo yet was quiet and comfortable.
