The lobby was beautiful.
Rooms have roaches.
It was made quite apparent that our level of room was the less desirable locations. Our 1st room was very small and had a view of a wall and was so close to the elevator we hear the bell all night long. Because we had a Starwood Preferred guest card we were upgraded to a higher room with a street view. But it was infested with roaches. Our third room was much nicer with a ocean view but still had roaches. read more

The hotel lobby area and view to the water was awesome, staff was very friendly.
The basic room we got was very small.
Annoyed the picturesque views thru the hotel out to the crashing waves of Waikiki beach. The hotel is located right in the middle of the action for plenty to walk and do or relax on the beach or in the evenings in the pool area. very friendly helpful staff.

It has a lot of period details, the location is great.
We were in the old wing and it is old!
We had two twin beds in the old wing. Believe me; it felt every minute of its age. The view is great, the public spaces are lovely and it is Hawaii so really how much does a great room matter? If you are trying to save a little on a room, Waikiki is the place to cut back. Save your $$$ for the other islands. From what we could tell all the rooms in Waikiki were about the same. Good value. read more

Excellent service.
There are a few towers in the hotel. One tower is very classic and is in need of updating. The new new tower is up to date and more modern. Super service and attention to detail. Very flexible in accommodating departure times.

Perfect setting - very charming.
As good as it get's on Waikiki: lovely atmosphere and nice seclusive setting. Better priced than Halekulani and more charming than the Pink Palace.

Loved the lei greeting at check-in.
Hotel is across from International Market--loud drumming at night.
Beautiful hotel that is on the national registry of historic sites. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. Wonderful ambiance all throughout the property.

Central location in Waikkiki.
Very noisy at night.
The hotel was located right in the heart of Waikkiki so you could walk to everything. However, at night because of its location, it was very loud from all the luaus and other night entertainment from other hotels.
