HOTEL DESCRIPTION Andre Putman takes her original 1984 design which invented the "boutique hotel" concept and modernized it with a distinct, 21st Century Feeling" Andree commissioned cutting edgelighting design team "TRAFIK" to create an installation for the Lobby ceiling." All rooms have been updated and feel light, bright and airy. Soft tones of mocha, dove grey and butter cream effortlessly play with silver-leaf dressing cabinets and hints of polished chrome. Looks like a former retirement home converted into a boutique hotel.

Was booked 100%, couldn't check me in before 3 pm. Doesn't qualify as a 4 star hotel, very run-down and old, too small and doesn't have the amenities of a typical 4 star hotel.

Convenient, interesting, nice bed linens, decent breakfast.
Very small room.

The hotel is in a great location around the corner from the Empire State Building and a short walk to Times Square,Penn Station, and 5th Ave shopping. The room was really small - typical of New York but clean, bright and comfortable. I would definitely come back here again and the price (through Priceline) was a real deal...

Absolutely fabulous service from all employees we came in contact with.
No late night bar in hotel to have a nightcap.

Fabulous hotel and staff. Room was a bit small, but properly appointed and very comfortable. Service was excellent and all of our requests were met cheerfully. With many stays in New York, this was one of our best.
