The price.
I felt like I was going to get mugged as soon as I stepped out of the hotel.
I went to Baltimore for the weekend to see a couple of baseball games. The Mount Vernon Hotel was the only hotel near the Inner Harbor for a reasonable rate. The hotel room itself was ok. It was nothing special but I had no complaints about the room. The area around the hotel though is horrible. I didn't feel safe at all in the area the hotel was in. We thought we would be able to walk everywhere we needed to go because of the proximity to the Inner Harbor but it was around a half hour walk that was very uncomfortable. Like I said the room was ok but if you stay here plan on taking cabs everywhere. read more

They made every effort to accomodate our needs and the continental breakfast was excellent.
No trash can in the room and tv remote was missing but promptly replaces.
It was well situated for the attractions we we're interested in check in and check out was easy and speedy.

Location was great and was clean and attractive.
One elevator was down.
I liked the historical appearance and the furnishings were attractive. The restaurant was to open in July, but the conntinental breakfast was excellent and the public transportation was close by.

Not enough parking spaces, my truck were towed and I had to scramble to pick it up to go to my next destination.
The hotel was great for my expectations on my stay. I rated the restaurant as poor, but that was only because there was not any restaurant open at the time of my stay.

The elevators did not work, the tv remote in my room did not work, it looked like an SRO.
The location was good and the room was clean but the overall experience was sub par.

The location of the hotel.
The bathroom was nasty, the tub did not work, and it was just a mess!
I was not pleased with this hotel! I expected a nice size room with amenities and appearance like any other hotel; vending machines, working tub, clean toilet, and so on. Needless to say, but I would not stay in the hotel again when I visit the Baltimore area.

Great location, accommodations were consistent with price.
Air conditioning was broken, got a little warm, also no closet in the room.
Would certainly recommend for business travel. Very easy to get to from train station. Reasonably close to attractions, also several really nice restaurants in the area.

I can't.
Broken elevator, broken air conditioning, no parking, would not recommend.
Twenty minutes and $10 after finding a place to park, wanted to go up to the room and relax, when we discovered the elevators didn't work. After the refreshing romp up the stairs, we got to our room only to discover that there was NO AIR CONDITIONING!!!! Will never, never, never stay here again, nor will I recommend to anyone. Furthermore, if this was the only hotel in Baltimore with vacancies, I would gladly turn around and go home read more

Everything was new.
They were renovating, the elevators were expired, and there was only one ice machine.
Overall the hotel itself was decent. it was old and classy, but
I feel as if
I was in the middle of a destruction zone.
I was scared because the elevators were expired, which looks bad on the hotel, and i couldn't find the fitness room for the life of me.
