Quiet and safe area.
Hotel was disappointing and would definitely not be considered 4 stars. Location is less than ideal and lots of additional charges for parking and tax.
Overall I was disappointed with the value for money. It would be more accurately described as a 2.5 - 3 star hotel. It is not within walking distance of any tourist attractions.

The staff was very friendly.
It was not worth 229 used a night.
If I would have known at the time I checked in that the water would be shut off from 11:30pm to 5:30am I would not have booked the room. The room was very small and the view of the parking lot had something to be desired. Also 7 euros for a beer in the hotel lounge is uncalled for I think.

Large clean room, competent staff.
Location, location, location.
Overall it was good. Of course, this one was at the end. I had turned down another hotel because it looked like I could get closer for the same rate. No - I was an extra mile or so out.

Nothing.
Location is terrible. No where near city center.
Do not stay here if you are young and looking to have fun and be in the city center. The cab rides cost a pretty penny.

The location of the hotel, although somewhat far from downtown, was pristine. Very clean, very safe.
Nothing comes to mind. Everything seemed on par with hotels of similar price.
The Golden Tulip Apollo Amsterdam was a wonderful experience. Our room was stunningly far from the front desk, but as we had very little luggage (one bag each) it was no problem at all. The area surrounding the Apollo was incredibly clean. It seemed like a middle-upper to upper-class neighborhood. The directions we found from the Amsterdam Central were flawless and easy. We did not write them down for some reason, but a vague recollection of street names was more than enough to find the hotel. I very strongly recommend this hotel. The price was much less than for hotels more central to the city and sights, but at the same time it must be said that the metro ride to downtown is 10-15 minutes, and should be taken into consideration. read more

Friendly and accommodating.
Too far from the center.
This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, and my 5 friends all agreed with me. The accommodations are clean but no extra features, decor is okay, cold/hot water control in shower did not work. A decent 3 star hotel though. What we saved in room charge, we ended up paying in taxis and public transportation.

It was clean.
The front desk staff was terrible!
The hotel was nice, but located away from anything to do in Amsterdam. On the other hand the lady at the front desk was very rude! She was unfriendly and mean.

Friendly staff.
Location and overall quality level.
This is a very nice hotel, however, it is certainly not a 4 star hotel (it is a 3 star), and it is certainly not in the center of Amsterdam.

Location is good if you don't mind being away from the city center. Close to museums.
A fair amount of noise, but it was new years!
Nice lobby and helpful staff. Rooms are a bit worn the rate for new years was not cheap. Close too many attractions. Easy tram to city center. A good hotel, which is showing a bit of wear and tear.

They offered me a cool towel and refreshments as I was checking in.
The hotel has a problem with small black flies in the bathroom.
This hotel had class, respectful staff, and comfortable beds. After several days on travel this hotel affords its guests quiet and repose. For those reliant on public transportation and don't want to pay cab fare, the hotel is a bit far from the center of town. It's a 30 minute walk through good neighborhoods for those who don't mind the trek.
