Detested kids calling long distance and operator hanging up on them. In 4-day-stay, the hotel did not connect us once! We had to use our cell phone.

The hotel can really use better telephone operators.

This hotel has two towers - one old and one new. Our first room was to be in the old tower but the AC wasn't working.
Overall, I would rate this a three star.

Close to light-rail and subway.
Too bad it's not in downtown and breakfast is not included in the price.

If it weren't for the crowded subway/light-rail trains, this would otherwise be a perfect alternative to staying near Nanjinglu. Aside of that the hotel itself is very comfortable, spacious and clean. TV needs to be replaced with larger LCD flat panel screens.

We liked the location as it is next door to a metro stop, so is the park across the street.

New World Mayfair as a 3-star upscale hotel is a good choice.
