Somehow - location.
Everything.
Absolutely outdated hotel with miserable furniture, creaking beds and garbage mattresses. There was not heat regulation in our room. It was cold in there, and when we complained, they made it like Africa. There is shitty TV-set from 70s with only 5 (five)channels - absolutely stupid channels, perhaps, the worst in England. There are a lot hotels the same quality, but in two times cheaper in the very same area. read more

Close to station.
Staff was appalling.
The staff was incredibly rude and made no attempt to neither fix the situation nor explain it properly. If we hadn't have already paid we would have walked right out of the building. We had to change rooms as the first room was very smoky. Our second room had been previously broken into and the door lock hadn't been repaired properly - the room felt very unsafe. There was no ability to control the temperature in the room and it was incredibly hot. The shower in the room was so hot that we were unable to stand under it even on the lowest temperature setting. read more

Location.
Outdated furniture, horrible shower.
The location made this hotel ok because there were grocery stores, shops, and transportation nearby. But, the room had a weird smell, furniture from the '50's, and a really unusable shower. It was disappointing.

Great location, very close to Paddington Station and right on Norfolk Square which is very beautiful.
The room was gross. There were no mattresses, there were pads. The pillows were old you with sweat stains and an mans hair was all over them.
The location of the Norfolk Towers is great. It's really the location that makes this hotel; it is a very easy walk from Paddington and set on the very Quaint Norfolk Square. But please don't have high expectations for the room. The room was gross. Saggy bed pads for a mattress, old sweaty pillows covered in an other person's hair, and a tiny dingy bathroom with no amenities. I had the creeps all night. I slept on top of the bed cover with a towel over the pillows because I felt sure that at least the towel was clean. read more

Location.
My boyfriend and I had to sleep in two separate twin sized cots.
It was okay, and serviceable, but not great. Kind of dirty and small. Lots of mold by the windows, the desk was broken, etc.

Friendly and accommodating staff, clean rooms and convenient location.
Rooms were small, but very clean.
Small, friendly hotel, convenient to the Heathrow express at Paddington Station.

It seems to me in America, 3-stars goes a long way. However, in England they do not hold the same prestige. I was extremly upset when I went to sleep (around 10pm) and the hotel and no hot water nor did it have hot water when I awoke the next morning (around 8am). The staff double charged me for my room, a room whihc frankly smelled of cat urine and stale smoke.

There is nothing to say
This hotel was a dump. One Star would be generous
This hotel is small, old, and dirty. In no way is this a three star hotel.

Quite an old hotel with rooms at the ground floor
The hotel has a good location being close to paddington station. Nevertheless the hotel is quite old with rooms also at the ground floor which greatly reduces your privacy.

Good price, good location
Architectural structure amplifies street noise ; hot stuffy rooms
Checkin: unfriendly staff. Would not let us check in until 2, even though they had rooms available. They said they did not offer non-smoking rooms. Hotel was hot and stuffy. Opening the window did not ease the hotness of the room (poor ventilation even with window wide open). The architecture of the surrounding buildings creates an effective audio amplifier, and even the slightest street noise enters the room as a constant loud roar. Extremely noisy all night long, even from streets two blocks away. Admittedly, the hotel was clean and nice, but with the hot stuffiness and the constant din, it would be best to avoid this hotel if you're looking for a place to get some actual rest. read more
