The hotel itself had a very convenient location and was beautiful.
I was not informed of a parking charge but had to pay $18 a night & they would not take care of the parking even though I was never told that.
The hotel was very nice with a great location in the heart of Downtown Austin. I was never told that there would be a charge for parking, I needed to just "swipe in and swipe out." Then I was charged $36 for two nights to park plus taxes and a service fee. I was extremely unhappy to be billed for something that was said to be posted in the garage. The garage holds both the hotel guests as well as business persons and visitors so the rates were unclear regarding hotel guests vs. the business portion of the hotel. Nonetheless I was made to pay for parking and left with a sour taste in my mouth. I enjoyed the hotel but not my checkout and closing experience. read more

I wasn't happy about paying for parking, but the garage was secure with an attendant.
I wasn't happy about the way of paying for parking once you've already paid a lot for a room, but the garage at the Omni was underground and secure with an attendant as opposed to many hotel lots I've parked in and paid more for that are outside and exposed.

Staff was very helpful and professional.
The room was very outdated - certainly not a 4-star.
The hotel staff was very professional. The public areas were very nice. However, when we got off the elevator to the room, I felt like I was in a different hotel. The carpet was badly stained and the room certainly didn't reflect the overall quality of the hotel. If you were to just rate the room, I feel it would be 2.0 to 2.5 at best.
