Location, romantic, classy.
The hotel was breathtaking. The service was just right for a 4-star. The concierge was helpful and knowledgeable. Location was perfect, close to 6th Street in Austin but two blocks away was quiet. The perfect place to stay.

Location was nice.
Need some major updates.
Good location. We had two rooms, both in the exceptive suites. Can't tell you how disappointed we were. Everything from the floor to the ceiling were so old (80's). Rooms were very small, can hear all the noise from the streets at night. No way is this a 4 star hotel.

It is a lovely building in a beautiful city.
In two words, there were 3, yes I said 3 roaches in our 2rooms.
I totally freaked out. To be fair to the hotel, after I informed the manager on duty .
I have mixed feelings about this hotel understandably so. I loved it the two days we were there, until I saw the roaches. And not 1, not 2, but 3. The front desk person was unresponsive to my complaint, so I asked to speak to the manager on duty. He promptly appologized and took off the charges for our breakfasts. We then stayed there a week later and I mentioned the roach thing and was assured that I would be given a roach-free room and I was. The food is way above average at this hotel and as it was our anniversary, we asked the concierge for a recomendation and it was perfect. So, I am not really sure about this hotel but I really hope it gets it's pest problem under control because everything else is fabulous. read more

Close to the nightlife action.
They still charge for WiFi.
This is a typical downtown Omni hotel. Great for people traveling on business, or great for leisure travelers who want to experience the 6th Street Nightlife of Austin and be able to walk to and from the action. Only 2 blocks away!

Cold and stale.
I'm myopic so in order to apply my makeup I need at least a floor length mirror to get close to or a magnifying one in the room. The only mirror in the room was the one over the small vanity in the bathroom. I had to lean over 2 1/2 feet to get close enough to see. Impossible for two people to get ready for a wedding as we were at the same time. There was a large space in our bathroom that had been emptied where it had contained by the looks of the 220 plug and plumbing connection, a washer and dryer. The large empty linen cabinet and walk in closet gave it away as well. read more

Close to 6th street, clean, safe, luxury.
The pool was not open all night.
This is a great hotel for anyone. The concierge got us into a restaurant in 5 minutes when all of 6th street had an hour or longer wait. Also I was impressed that they had someone at the elevators going up to the rooms to ensure that only guest where entering the rooms. I felt safe and that I could have a good time and not have to worry.

Great location in comparison to 6th street, not too close, not too far.
Parking garage was ridiculous, ladies at the front desk were snooty and rude.
Hotel was very nice and the room met expectations except the curtains didn't really block out the morning sun. The parking garage was a complete disaster and it took forever to find a parking spot. Once I found one I couldn't open my driver door so I had to crawl out the passenger door. We had 3 rooms and the girls at the front desk made the check in process completely outrageous. Instead of one girl checking us in to all 3 rooms one at a time, there were 3 girls trying to each check in a room at the same time. They made it very complicated. read more
