River side location.
Not easy to locate even with the GPS.
The TV did not work. Bathroom door handle was broken. They did not wake me up in the morning at the requested hour. The general Manager was supposed to contact me to discuss these issues but hasn't.

A unique hotel with the feeling of old town Detroit. Friendly service.
Shuttle service is unpredictable and you can end up waiting a while.
The Omni Detroit is a really cool spot right on the river. The staff is super friendly and the hotel is clean with a lot of character. They provide a free shuttle service to anywhere downtown and if it is too busy to use, it is only a $6 - $8 cab ride. I would stay there again.

On the water.
No pool.
People and management was great, but to call this hotel 3.5 stars with no swimming pool is ridiculous.

The shuttle dude was nice.
Dirty, old, unfriendly staff, and misleading signs.
It began by paying $18 for parking, which is very overpriced for it's location. If you stay at the nice casino hotels, it's free. We also tried to call to get directions to get there because all of our GPS gave wrong directions, and the phone just rang and rang. We finally got in and realized the main elevator was broken and looked like it had not worked in years so had to go down the hall to the other elevator. We walked into our wrong and instantly felt an old and dirty feel. Went to pour a drink and the glasses were dirty. Went to the bathroom and realized the window draft was freezing cold. Went to find some ice, and there was none on our floor. Called to ask where the ice was and the phones were broken. Went down to ask where the ice was, and saw a sign on the way down that said where some was, so I followed it. But no ice was there. It was a sign that has probably been there for long time, how old was it to take down. By this time, I just decided it wasn't worth it. We decided to get out of there. Took the shuttle, which was pretty much the only acceptable part of the trip. When we arrived home, we realized the walls were super thin, if we know what I mean. But beware, this is not a 3 and a half star hotel. read more

Old decor and style.
Listed as downtown, had to use shuttle which ends at 10:30.
Okay for a short stay with plans to be off site. Would be nice in summer since it is on the Riverwalk. To far to walk to Downtown activities and people mover. Shuttle nice, but stopped at 10:30 pm.
