Rude people. Filthy hotel. Unsafe parking.
If you have any option what-so-ever, including sleeping in the street, avoid Santa Monica's Pacific Sands Motel at all costs. It is a motel you might envision as low-end in Calcutta.

The location is excellent. Very handy for beach and shopping/ restaurants.
Very noisy. Poor standard of decoration/ cleaning/ electrics. No AC and fridge.
There is a car park to the back of the hotel and cars use the courtyard as a shortcut to the street behind. This makes it noisy at night. The shower was dirty. No safe and the door to the room is not secure, so we had to carry all important stuff with us.

The air did not work and for the price I stayed at the Marina Del Rey area for cheaper and it was a much higher quality hotel.

The bed was very hard, the room and bathroom was out of date and the room was very hot & stuffy.

Fantastic location across from Santa Monica Pier.
Shower was not up to my expectations.
The rooms are outdated, but I was expecting that. I only needed it for one night and it served my needs perfectly.

Awesome location to Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade and the beach.
The decor has not been updated since 1966, but what you expect for super cheap.
