I honestly can't think of one thing.
Musty smell, dirty linens, insect bites, cold
am coffee, restricted water access.
Not as represented. Front desk clerk could not explain how we could gain access to Lake Okeechobee, nor could she recommend someone who could. The main purpose of our visit was to scout a location for a family boating vacation on Lake Okeechobee. At first we were hit by a strong Mildew odor in main lobby the smell was stronger in our guest room which was in a separate building. The carpets in our room were filthy, the walls were patched, one sheet and two pillow cases were dingy brownish-yellow in comparison to the others. During the night we were repeatedly bitten by insects which were not mosquitoes. The king sized bed had no support beyond the edges and my husband and I constantly rolled to the middle. In the morning we lifted what appeared to be a sheet of paper on the bathtub floor and discovered a white runny paste underneath. Given the discovery we chose not to shower that morning. We walked over to the main lobby at approximately 7 am and poured coffee from a large metal carafe. The coffee was cold. The bar and recreation area were equally as dirty. When we arrived we were offered complimentary drinks from the bar, but after sitting for a while we felt it best not to consume any beverages at this site. The outward appearance of Pier II is inviting but that is where it stops. Our stay was memorable, but not in a good way. read more

Their willingness to help us find another hotel for the night.
Hotel was more than 50% occupied by bikers, along with their bikes and carrousing.
I learned a lesson here. That is, don't stray away from name brands. We regret that we didn't stay at the new Holiday Inn Express nearby. We stayed here because we thought we would be on the shore of the lake.
