Friendly staff.
Definately not a 3 star motel.

Doubt if the window air conditioner had been cleaned in the last year. You could tell that the maids just hurried through their cleaning all the time and never vacuumed corners or edges.

They were able to get us an extra bed and a roll away bed.
I did not like that I had to pay for the roll away bed per night.

The bed was very comfortable. Morning shift people were nice.
Drab, dreary apartment like, not pool, no jacuzzi, valet parking only.

I would only recommend this hotel for business professionals that will only stay in the room. The lamp did not work. The TV did not work but if you're sleeping, it won't matter. On the bright side, morning people and valet guy very nice.

The bed was terrific; 17yr old loved the bathroom.
TV was not working, lamp did not function, drery except for lobby and must use valet.

I would only recommend this hotel for business use only. There is no pool or amenities. Behind the facade of the office, nothing is attractive. Looks like an apartment alley but is very quite for a person who wants to sleep only and get work done. Paid but did not go back to this hotel after back from cruise. It was that unpleasant.

Great location, plenty of food choices close by and newly remodeled nice overall.
The $14.00 parking fee.

The staff was very friendly and attentive. The overall feel of the room was very nice newly renovated hotel. The view of the ocean was great and closeness to the freeway made it excellent. We had a pleasant stay overall.

Very good location. We were near the harbor just walking distance from the hotel.
No parking spaces for outside parking you had to Valet park over night for an extra 30 dollars.

This hotel I will recommend to couples for a getaway but not for family with children. No pool. Hotel is located in a very convenient location within walking distance to shops, resturants, clubs and shopping areas. Staff very friendly.

Comfortable beds.
Looked run down, elevator was broken on 1st floor, vending machine was broke, and the room was not painted completely.

Porto Vista has great, comfortable beds and is in a fantastic location. Other than that, it has nothing going for it.

It was in a good central location.
The hotel seemed unfinished and cheap.

Although the lobby was nice, the rest of the hotel appeared unfinished. Light switches in both rooms didn't work. Besides having cheap mis-matched furniture, my room had pieces of blue painters tape all over it. Rooms were musty. No closets, just tiny armoires. My dads room had a chair parked in front of the armoire, no place to move the chair. Both rooms looked out onto parking lots cluttered with old furniture and dirt piles. Vending machines didn't work. No self park. Too many negatives. If we hadn't arrived so late and been so tired we wouldn't have stayed. read more

This hotel was in a great location, little Italy.
Shoddy workmanship in room, wall unpainted and painter's tape still on wall, carpet stained.

I was very disappointed in the condition of the room as a whole. Upon first glance it looked great but then we noticed the stained carpets and an entire wall left incomplete with painters tape on it and debris on the floor. The fixtures (i.e. shower head/knob etc.) in the bathroom were movable, there is no where to hang your towels and there were no wash clothes. I waited for 3 hours for someone to bring up an iron and we never did have access to the room safe in the 3 days we were there. The in-room refrigerator was a glorified cooler, at best. I would not have felt safe eating anything left in it overnight. However, the desk staff and valets were very personable and friendly. I would not choose to stay at this particular hotel again, though, due to the shoddiness of the room. read more
