Excellent staff, clean, comfortable, great indoor pool
Rooms were clean, but outdated

Great staff and good location - quick drive to Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. Rooms are clean and comfortable, but need to be updated. Applicances in room (frig, tv, coffee maker) are functional, but old. Has wonderful heated indoor swimming pool - perfect for the cool Monterey weather. My kids love it.

at the desk was very resourceful & professional.
Bad room access; with an odd arrangement for the stairs access to the actual room.

After checking in; we had the unfortunate discovery of having the room above us with children & the activity level of the youngster was relentless; and the attendant on duty was professional & courteous both.

Not walking distance to Monterey bay aquarium.

Nice place to stay, very clean. Should not say walking distance to aquarium. Unless you are 20years old.

The overnight rate was very affordable and the hotel exceeded my expectations for the price.
The breakfast was lacking fruit and really only had the usual: bread.

If you stay in Monterey and just need a safe, affordable, clean hotel room, this is the place to stay. There are many hotels in Monterey that are much nicer, but the rate is also much steeper. You are close to shops (like the Del Monte mall) and many restaurants, plus everything is in walking distance and it's a safe walk. Great room for the price.
