Ramada Inn Barstow

Convenient to freeway access. Good overnight lodging at reasonable rates.

Good location for me.

We liked it, it was comfy enough for the 2 days stay. The pool was nice, clean and the pool area was very inviting. The room was not the best ever but it was not the worst. The lobby was nice, the desk clerks were nice, the breakfast was very nice and the best was actually somewhat not that bad. I was actually able to sleep. The train did not bother us because we were on the front of the hotel. We would stay there again, but then I know what some of the others are like in Barstow, not that great! read more

The security at this hotel is terrible. I had an entire trailer stolen from the parking lot. When the police arrived they admitted that theft and vandalism was common at the Barstow Ramada. Also the hotel is parallel to train tracks; the train runs every 10 - 15 minutes at every morning at 8:00AM the whistle blows.

Overall the hotel was OK for our needs. Only certain rooms had hard wired Internet access which I so prefer over wireless. Was not able to access Internet for first several days. I had to leave a day early and so it cost me about 80 - 90 dollars for a room which I did not use. Oh, and one of the cars, near ours, in the parking lot was broken into, not good.

Outside looks nice, but the room was deplorable. Very dirty with broken lamp shade and wobbly headboard (the prior guest stuffed tissue paper - didn't help). We were approached by a person bumming cigarettes right outside the main entrance. Local children are apparently allowed to use the swimming pool. Should have tried Best Western.
