Fair price, clean, and a helpful staff.
Close to railway (can be noisy during the night if you are sensitive), the neighboring rooms can also be noisy when people come late from the casino.

For an older hotel the rooms were still good quality.
It needs an upgrade which they are going to do, I think.

2 things were not okay, I asked the receptionist to put me as high up as she could. This was a large Hotel of 14 stories and the best she could do on a Saturday morning was the 6th floor? I was sure they did not get that many more people dropping in after that. I called the housekeeping manager and asked her not to come in and replace towels or do any clean up of my room the next day (Sunday), And when we came back they had come in. I stayed in on Memorial weekend. read more

The people were great.
The slots weren't the best.

I was in Reno to get married, the hotel employees were very nice and they remembered me after we got married they all congratulated us.

It was cheap.
The whole hotel smelled like cigarette smoke.

This was probably a decent hotel thirty years ago. Now, however it is old and nasty and the whole place smelled like smoke from the lobby to the rooms- and we had a non-smoking room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't care to breath in decade old cigarette smell.

Best service.
This hotel is old and outdated, was great for the money.

I would have to say the service and continental breakfast was wonderful. The casino employees were great also. Bed is hard but surprisingly comfortable, the carpet and beds and couch were all outdated. TV was OK. All was clean and staff responsive and brings you anything you need.

Beds were comfortable.
Parking lot was awful. It had stink.

Overall OK if you are on a budget. If only looking for a room with bed where you would sleep, it is OK. Otherwise not.

It was near the interstate.
The lobby stunk badly of cigarette smoke from the casino.

I would not want to stay there again. Access to the pool was difficult, dirty, and seemed unsafe as anyone could enter the stairwell to the pool area. I was concerned that there was no visibility to staff/security in the stairwell or the pool. The room was fair, but smelled odd and seemed musty.

The staff was very good and they had good shuttle service to get around town.
It was old and the rooms were small.

The hotel was average. Thanks to the staff and the shuttle service it made my stay much more enjoyable if it were not for that.

No problem finding a parking space.
Noisy neighbors. Plumbing is very noisy too. We could hear flushes and showers in adjacent rooms.

The Holiday Inn is average. The room itself was nice enough, but the hotel is located in a run-down area of town. Noise from the plumbing in adjacent rooms was annoying, and being awakened at 2 AM by noisy neighbors across the hall was not appreciated. We did not patronize the restaurant, use the pool or visit the casino. OK for a one night stay, but try another hotel for extended stays. read more
