Renaissance Arts Hotel New Orleans

This hotel was very well maintained and beautifully decorated. The valet parking staff helped us when we needed something from our vehicle after it was parked and the desk staff helped us find restaurants and things to do.

Beautiful hotel in a quiet upscale area.

The hotel restaurant is up scale except for the food. Waitress advised that chef is Russian. She stated that when we were brought our first order of baroques shrimp it was steamed shrimp with gumbo type gravy over grits! Not grilled. Waitresses advised chef personally does not like tomatoes so he twins sauces to his taste. Personally I expected to get jumbo shrimp grilled with maybe a butter sauce. The filet was ordered med rare came to table med well. Not an upscale joints just the prices. The valets were another story. No place to park so I asked a valet where to park to check in he said he was moving cars in a minute. I drove around block and valet was in a conversation with other valets and had not moved vehicles. Employees were parking in front of hotel in their personnel cars taking up guest parking at the curb. I saw a front desk employee leaving for the night get in her vehicle parked just outside the doors. Valet was gone more than at post. Wanted a taxi at one point and cold not get a service by phone lines stayed busy so I walked. Most four star hotels in new Orleans have taxis waiting at curb. This night as I walked past another four star hotel taxis were parked waiting for business. The location of hotel is a bit off Downtown main drag but only three blocks it was raining when I requested a taxi and really didn't want to walk. read more
