Best decorated hotel I have ever seen, very nice and classy, great exercise area.
No swimming pool and the staff was a little rude.

Its location was fantastic - across from the capitol, next to the mall, and 5 minutes from the hospital - where I needed to go.
There was no parking outside of the $25 valet service. Then you have to tip each time you go in and out. This adds up.

This hotel was a beauty. I loved the location. Next to the mall, across the street from the state capitol. It was quiet, cozy, new, clean, and the staff was very polite. I enjoyed the wonderful smells they had in the hallways and the restaurant was not busy but delicious and the service was great. The only downside was the $25 valet parking which was the only option. Also, the wall paper was kinda ugly in my opinion. read more

The room comfort, and location.
The $25 fee for valet parking.

I would have rather stayed at a 3 start hotel and not have to pay for parking . I didn't factor the this fee into my budget and every time I had to get my car I had to tip. So in fact it cost me an extra $40 on top of my hotel stay.

The location and overall atmosphere were very pleasant.
The bed, while made with very comfortable linens and comforter, was not actually comfortable at all. We woke up very sore both mornings.

It was extremely nice, convenient and pleasant.
No pool or spa. For a hotel this nice, one would expect there to be things to do at the hotel. It's really great for sleeping and that's it.

Beautiful decor - lobby, waiting area, and room.
Cost of valet parking overnight.

If you want a romantic getaway in Providence, this is the perfect place. Combine with a concert or show, dining, and walking tours and you have a complete experience. The staff was first-rate from front desk to valet attendant.

The room was clean, comfortable, and large with attractive decor.
They charge for internet and parking is by valet only (no free parking in vicinity of the hotel).

My overall experience was excellent. The staff were extremely courteous, the room was excellent (one of the best I've ever had), and the location was perfect (adjacent to the capital building and within walking distance of downtown). The $11-12 fee for internet and the $25 valet charge to park my car were minor annoyances. For a comfortable stay in an excellent hotel I would still recommend the Renaissance to family and friends looking for a place to stay in Providence. read more

Restaurant and accomodations excellent.
Nickle and dime for everything from parking, to newspaper, to internet, to television.

Unique Masonic & graffiti decorative elements.
Lack of abundant self-parking.

A unique hotel with unusual decorative themes combining Masonic, and graffiti elements. Exceptionally nice and helpful staff.
