For a quick "getaway", this chain spot with "beautiful", "woodsy" grounds 35 minutes from Manhattan feels appropriately far "from route 287", though it's right "in the center of Westchester" connected to the John Carrere House; supporters say the "newly renovated rooms have a modern edge" and the "wonderful brunch spread" is impressive, but those who notice it "rents the pool out for parties" (hello, "13-and-under crowd") would "rather spend" their "money elsewhere."

Kindness of staff in general is terrible. Water pipe broke and yellow (sand) water came from the tap and the toilet. Hotel notified that the problem was solved, but my room still had yellow water. I couldn't wash my teeth and take a bath. I complained about it, and hotel sent three bottled water. It took 30 minutes to get the water after the talk. Heater was not turning on, only air conditioner. Temperature outside was about 45. Staff said that it was a hotel policy to turn on the heater under a certain degree. The room was freezing cold. I complained about that, and the hotel sent a small heater, which was too small to make the room warm. It took more than 40 minutes to get the heater after the talk. read more

Very comfortable beds and bedding.
Surprised at the thin walls that allowed us to hear our neighbor's phone ring.

Resort-like ambience.
Room cleanliness was less than average.

The hotel caters to large events like weddings and bar mitzvahs. We found a small pile of used tissues in a corner of our room, and some surfaces were indifferently dusted. In-room coffee maker only made individual cups of coffee. No free internet access. No way to clean fit space equipment. No staff on duty in the gift shop (where coffee can be purchased).

The hotel grounds were very nice with nice outdoor seating area & walking trail.
The front desk staff not too friendly/helpful. No sink/mirror area outside of bathroom.

The hotel was nice & suited our needs. Nice area, nice grounds but I wasn't overly impressed, especially with the front desk worker who wasn't very friendly. I got much more info from the very nice bellhop in the elevator.

Service was superb - brought us a heater, microwave and more coffee immediately.
Nothing I didn't like.

This hotel has very nice, quite large rooms, friendly and attentive staff, a covered pool and even a sand volleyball court. I was only there two nights but enjoyed my stay very much. It must be a popular place because three weddings were taking place on Saturday.

Convenience to NYC.

This place has it all! I enjoyed the walking trails, room service and computer access, as well as the proximity to New York City. I've stayed here many many times and hope to stay many more. Highly recommended!
