Remote control.
Roaches, TV, heat, water controls, cleanliness.
I stay in a hotel 50% of the year and I've done that since 1993. This has been the worst by far. I would recommend a 1/3 star not a full star.

Location was ok.
Crap and noisy heater.
Much worse than I anticipated. I always thought Travelodge¿s were cheap, yet modern and clean. This "hotel" was very substandard and fitting of something from the 1970s.

The location.
No Internet access at all. Not good for business travelers.
Basically an economy motel that acts like it. No frills, except perhaps the coffee in the minimal lobby. Biggest problem was there is no Internet access at all here. Business travelers especially need to be aware of this. Basically, you are totally isolated in the rooms. Also, the room we had was in a corner where outside it had a very strong smell of urine. Inside, there was a very strong disinfectant smell, which was unpleasant. Everything seemed to be clean, otherwise. I would probably look for alternatives if I find myself in the same neighborhood again. read more

Very little.
The TV didn't work and the shower didn't work. I had to take a bath.
The biggest problem I had with the stay besides the fact that the TV and shower didn't work, was that I had to waste 2 hours calling different phone numbers to register my complaint.

Nothing It was scary old things didn't work. Bad area.
Old and bad area, sink didn't work, no stoppers, messed up sheets. I was frightened. Wall paper peeling off. No English at reception. Rough area. Scary people and I am a tough person. Travel all the time.

Near D.C. metro system.
N/A
It was very hard to understand the people at the service desk, and I am fairly good with understanding other languages (I am bilingual). There were no sightseeing brochures in the lobby, so we had to go to another hotel for that information. Our bathtub had no shower head and we had to hunt down the maintenance people to fix it. They did, however, respond right away...wonder how the cleaning staff didn't notice that?? There had been a full length mirror on the bathroom door, however, it was removed for some reason, and the glue was still on the door and looked very ugly. The second night we had small visitors and woke up to bugs on the walls. I would definitely not return to this hotel. read more

Nothing.
Outside of room stench; inside reef of stench-masker.
Unclean. Moldy shower. Clerk encased in bullet-proof glass.

The staff were nice.
The bed sheets did not feel clean and were not comfortable.
not the most convenient to downtown DC but it is relatively easy to get to the metro and then get in. Staff are nice. rooms decent and relatively spacious.

It was reasonably quiet and the staff were friendly, although slow.
It's a little dirty and run down. It was cheaper to randomly call hotel.
It probably took about 10 minutes to get to the Silver Spring Metro (red line). When I got there the toilet didn't flush and the sink area light didn't work. The problems were taken care of quickly. There's a Subway connected to the hotel, which was handy. The area is on the edge of really nice and slightly scary. The hotel was kind of dirty, but tolerable (no bugs or anything). When I got there I saw that what I paid per night was almost 20 dollars more than what they charge if you just walk in. Of course, this was the cheapest DC place I could find that wasn't in a really scary part of the city. read more
