Hotel staff were receptive to requests when I mentioned former requests were not met.
My request for room coordination for two separate beds were not exactly fulfilled.
Very good location near the water tower. walking distance to quality cafes and restaurants. The view from the room wasn't anything spectacular, not recommended for romantic purposes. Good for quality stay. Only problem is the waiting time for your car to come from valet parking. Am not sure where the parking lot is, but it takes up to 10min for your car to be pulled over. Which was a little frustrating. read more

Beds were so comfy and clean.
Nothing.
Everything that Priceline said it was and more. Beautiful hotel. Loved the shampoo, bath soaps. Our view was incredible without receiving an upgrade.

Location and great bathroom.
The in room internet could be better.
This hotel is an excellent choice for downtown Chicago. Location is perfect with most of the major attraction being within walking distance or a short cab ride away. Room was great, nice big windows with great views, comfortable beds, and great styling.

French-ness.
A bit snooty.
The good and bad of a high-priced, corporate chain hotel. Location not great.

The entire staff was always on the lookout to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
The Euro-Disco music that plays continuously in the lobby and outside is atrocious.
The Sofitel Water Tower is located in the River North area within easy walking distance of State St., Rush St. and Michigan Ave. It is the perfect location for people like us who prefer to not be in the hustle and bustle but don't mind a short walk to get right in the action. The always attentive, helpful and friendly staff made sure our needs were met whenever we asked. One of the concierge, even recognized us sitting at a street side cafe several blocks from the hotel. She smiled, waved, and said hello even though she was off for the day and could have simply ignored us as she passed. That she didn't reflects well on the hotel and was representative of our treatment by the entire staff from the doormen to housekeeping to the front desk. The only downside for us was that our opportunities to relax at the end of the day with a drink and people-watch were somewhat limited due to the previously mentioned hotel location and because the somewhat small, high-ceiling lobby wasn't as inviting as we would have liked. But that was fine because it's pretty easy to find places to people-watch in Chicago! read more

Location and contemporary design.
Furniture in room show damage and wear greater than age of hotel.
Good, quiet location, just a 2 minute walk from Michigan Ave and the Hancock tower. New adjacent buildings block any lake views that might have existed at one time. Contemporary design and furnishings are nicely done. The room was a bit smallish for a 4 star hotel but the large bathroom was a nice trade-off. I will probably try another hotel on my next visit but would not be disappointed at all if I ended up back at the Sofitel. read more

Clean rooms and good service.
Lounge could have a bit more food options.
Very nice hotel. My daughter and her husband live in Chicago and when we visit we will use this hotel again. The other couple we came with liked the hotel but prefer the drake. I think both have their place (modern Vs traditional) however I feel the sofitel is friendlier and the parking is less expensive which is always nice.
