Service was great, and the room was very nice.
Parking was very expensive $40/night.
Very nice hotel. Good service, nice rooms, great location. Expensive parking. It is a business area and local restaurants close early.

The contemporary look of the hotel.
A little disappointed with the size of the bed.
The hotel was in a great location and was beautiful inside. I was a little disappointed to get two double beds when we got there. The staff was very helpful, especially the concierge.

Hotel bathrooms were big and beautiful, Room was very nice. Service was great.
Bed was kind of hard. Food was expensive, we didn't eat there.
Sofitel is a very nice and upscale hotel. It has larger rooms with very nice bathrooms. Large shower and separate tub. Fresh flowers in the bathrooms. Hallways were wide, with soft lighting and nice carpets.

The rooms were well-appointed and it was in a great location.
A hotel at this level shouldn't charge separately for Internet access

Staff was always very polite and helpfull. Always clean and well kept.
The wireless internet was not free, and the free internet terminals were a little slow.
The location is a prime spot, right in downtown DC, 2 blocks from the white house. The hotel staff were always very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean and the maids came in twice a day: once to clean up, make the bed and replace any towels, and once to turn down the bed. There was a full size closet for any hanging articles of clothing, but there were no drawers whatsoever, which just meant we had to be creative with how we put our clothes in the closet. That and the size of the room and bathroom are the only things that keep this hotel from a "Luxury Suite" rating in my mind. The room and bathroom were very nice of course, just a bit too cramped to classify it as "luxury". My ONLY complaint was the internet access. In an age where you can walk into most coffee shops and have free wireless access (without even purchasing a coffee in some cases), why must I pay an additional fee for internet in a room I'm already paying hundreds of dollars per day to use. This would have bothered me only slightly less if the free internet terminals off the lobby were not so slow. read more

Very quiet and elegant.
The view out of window was a wall.
Sofitel is an elegant European style hotel located two blocks from the White House on a quiet block of a very busy city. The beds are very luxurious, the service is impeccable. The valet parking was very reasonable and overall I felt that the hotel was an excellent value.

Closed to everything.
I don't care to much for French type food.
Great close to everything you want to see in Wash DC. Clean, friendly, helpful, everything you want in a Hotel.
