There was no swimming pool.
It was wonderful. Janine October 4, 2008 Couple 10.0 Quaint, affordable, comfortable, family friendly, close to beach and shops.
My fiancé and I stayed at the hotel in late September, 2008. I booked the room based on recent reviews of the resort that I had read. As we were staying prior to the start of the season the price of our room was extremely reasonable and enabled us to have a week long vacation in Fort Myers Beach.
I have read reviews about this place from when this resort was owned previously and it sounds dismal, but I urge anyone looking to call or email the owners and judge for you their enthusiasm and commitment to making their guests feel at home while they visit.
When we first arrived at this boutique resort, as I prefer to call it, I was excited by its charm and character. This boutique resort is located in the heart of the Times Square area of Fort Myers Beach, FL. It is within walking distance of many restaurants, clubs, shops and the beach, which really appealed to me, as I really did not want to have to rent a car during our stay. The resort houses a total of 7 rooms ranging from what is essentially an efficiency apartment to a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo. Some of the rooms are accessible to others, making it very possible for a group of 10 to co-exist in a 3 bedroom, 3 bath apartments.
My fiancé and I stayed in the room, which had an incredibly comfortable bed (and nice big fluffy pillows), small kitchenette (with 2 burner stove, apartment sized fridge, microwave, full size sink and coffeemaker) and a full bath. Rooms with kitchenettes also include cooking pots/pans and utensils (even a colander!), as well as items to do dishes (detergent, sponge, dishtowels and dishrags).

Some items were in need of repair but everything worked fine, more for the look.
When you arrive at the Sun Deck the first thing you see is the stairs going in every direction. These stairs lead to the various rooms and decks all around the property. The office was locked with a sign 'Rick & Rae are cleaning the rooms, back in a few minutes.' I was stopped and given my room key by Rae walking back to the car (this was 10am). I've never been able to get into a room this early. The room was small, maybe 8ft x 15ft. There was a single queen size bed, 1 dresser, 1 nightstand, 1 refrigerator, 1 microwave, 1 coffee maker, and 1 TV. There is no closet in the 'New Bedford' room. Air conditioning is from a single window unit that covers the traffic noise (and TV volume) well. The room was clean with a few stains on the carpet. The bed was typical hotel but in good shape, not caved in. The bathroom was basic. Toilet, stall shower, and sink. One of the items in need of repair was the shower head going into the wall. Worked fine but was rusty. The room overall was exactly what was needed for this trip, a place to sleep and change clothes. If you are planning to stay in the room why pay for a hotel on the beach (1 block from the beach). Every room has an assigned parking space. Once parked there is really no reason to move your car if you stay on the island. There is a bit of traffic noise coming from the mainland bridge. However it isn't near as loud as the noise from the Harley's that must be revved constantly all over the beach. The hotel has a small courtyard that has an outdoor heater, grill, stereo, and chairs. It is a nice place to relax but I didn't use it because it's also the main smoking area for some. As a service example: I asked Rae for a laundromat location. She without hesitation told me to use their washers, which are not coin operated. She just needed to finish the room cleaning first because they were full this weekend. I try to stay in Ft. Myers (Beach) fairly frequently and have a definite place to go every. read more
