Description of Super 8 Motel - Durango/Purgatory
* Welcome to Durango, the heart of Colorado & number 39; old and new west! * Durango has been a bustling railroad town since the 1880s and today you can still ride the historic steam train from downtown (just a short drive from the Super 8) through the beautiful San Juan Mountains, to the quaint mining town of Silverton. * If you are looking for a little more excitement, you can swoosh down the slopes of the nearby Durango Mountain ski resort in the winter, raft the raging Animas River during the spring snow melt, or golf in the lushness of a high mountain summer at the famous Hillcrest golf course. * You can finish your day by enjoying a delicious meal in any of the town's excellent restaurants and then return to your comfortable room for a good nights rest. * The next morning, to speed you on your way, we provide coffee makers in all our rooms so that you can have your first cup as soon as you wake up. * Free High Speed Internet, hairdryers and coffeemakers in all rooms read more

The bathroom vibrated enough for a massage.

It was good for the night. Nothing special. The breakfast was better than average.

Nothing.
Everything.

It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It was dirty. The beds were stained, the air conditioner didn't work and the hot water ran out fast. My brother, his family stayed there also and had to switch rooms a few time. I suggest if you want to stay in a hotel there go for a high star or just wait until you arrive. There were better hotels for half the price. They should be ashamed to be called a super 8 motel. read more

The walls were paper thin. No swimming pool. Breakfast was very light - cereal, bagel, oatmeal, fruit, coffee. Juice machine broken.

The room was clean.
The hotel was housing construction workers and it was very loud in the hallways and room.

Would not recommend, it was very loud and did not quiet down until 2am and was noisy again at 6am.

Friendly staff.
No fridge in room, wish we'd had 4 big towels to start.

Very friendly helpful staff. Good enough overall I would stay again. Convenient to south end of town, nice park and path along river and shopping center but not in historic downtown. Nice that the non-smoking room had no trace of smoky smell. But disappointing that there was no fridge in room even though some double rooms did have fridges, they were not able to move one into our room. And late that night when we were showering we realized there were only 2 small bath towels - would expect 4 of this size for 2 people. But bed was comfortable, overall good. read more

Dog friendly, quick easy road access.
Little dirty.

Carpet needed to be vacuumed three times a day not in the morning.

Nothing.
The room smelled badly of smoke. Itched all night from something on or in it. Said they were all booked up, could not give us another room.

It was dirty and smelled of smoke. I had to run to the store and get some fabreze to get rid of the smell. Bed sheets made you itch all night. When we checked out and told them of the situation all they could do was apologize.

Recently refreshed rooms, was better than when we were looking last fall for a place to stay.
Unable to accommodate for additional bedding.

Better than last year. Stopped in looking for a place to stay, was not impressed, but recently refreshed rooms, floors & linens attracted us this time.
