The Berkeley Hotel was opened in 1988, but the attention to detail and era leads most visitors to believe that it is much older. Upon selecting the site for a new boutique-style hotel in the historic Shockoe Slip, careful planning and consideration went into the construction of The Berkeley Hotel. Since the site is in a historic district of Richmond, the hotel was designed to be architecturally similar to the buildings surrounding it. Within just months after opening, The Berkeley Hotel achieved the AAA four-diamond rating and has held this honor every year since. Clean, classy, and was comfortable.
Door handle in bathroom was silver, every other fixture was brass.

Amazing brunch! Coffee was like drinking silk. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and a fantastic location.

Very clean room. The bed is extremely comfortable. LOVED the balcony and the location.
Food was awful and over priced. The shower drain didn't drain well. Ordered beer to the room and they never showed up.

The balcony was so nice to have. The beds are really comfortable. Staff was friendly.

The breakfast I ordered was overpriced and was hardly appetizing.

The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Some of their amenities were attractive like big comfortable clean bed, flat screen TV with cable, wireless internet.

Very nice room with an out side balcony. Would not suggest eating at the hotel restaurant.

Nothing.

This hotel was simply amazing. The rooms are very large, the beds are comfortable, and the staff is extremely friendly - even if you might not belong there. They even call to make reservations for you at a local restaurant if you so desire. No complaints.

It was the best location for downtown Richmond.

This is a great hotel. The staff is very friendly every time we called. We could not smell smoke at all, and our friends with us didn't even know it was a smoking room. We loved this hotel and hope to stay here again sometime.

I loved the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The valet parking was excellent.

Overall, the hotel was great. The bed was lovely I wish I could have brought it home with me. I loved the chocolates on my table.
