Description of The Cadogan
The Cadogan Hotel is linked with two of the most fascinating personalities of the age, both at the centre of Londons social and artistic life Lillie Langtry and Oscar Wilde. Lillie Langtry, famous actress and close friend of Edward VII, lived at 21 Pont Street from 1892 to 1897. Long after she had sold the house, Lillie would stay in her old bedroom, by then a part of the hotel. The Cadogan Hotel is perhaps best known for its association with Oscar Wilde who was arrested in room 118 in 1895. This incident at the Cadogan Hotel was immortalized by John Betjeman in his poem "The Arrest of Oscar Wilde at the Cadogan Hotel." Today the Cadogan hotel has the feel of a private townhouse steeped with British old-world elegance. The experience is complemented by touches of unexpected modernity, which are subtly woven in to bring this historical building into the 21st Century. Guests of the Cadogan Hotel can enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the private gardens on Cadogan Place opposite the hotel, one of Londons many private gardens. read more

So fabulously English - traditional and lovely! The staff made it feel like we were coming home and it is in the most fabulous neighborhood - I wanted to move in!

Great location for exploring London.
Our room was in need of a good cleaning, especially stained carpeting.

The location, authenticity and overall look.
The elevator doors made quite a noise.

Clean, authentic 1900's hotel in a very luxurious part of London close to Harrods. Friendly staff and romantic rooms. The elevator doors make quite a noise so try to get a room away from the elevator. We had a great time there.

Nothing.
Everything.

There isn't a lobby or a bellboy! No pool or spa services! Nothing that you would expect.

The staff was very helpful at all times.
The rooms need an update (paint, beds) and the shower was poorly designed with insufficient hot water.

The Cadogan is housed in a beautiful Victorian townhouse. The staff is friendly and work tirelessly to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are small and need updating. Location is conveniently between two major tube stations in the Knightsbridge area.

Overall charm of the premises and historical/literary connotations.
Fittings (eg bathroom taps, heating) not fully functional.

The Cadogan is charming in itself, with helpful staff. However there are small aspects which require improvement - e.g. hair dryer cannot be used in bathroom, which is only location of a mirror - a problem for women travelers. As with all London hotels, coffee, meals etc. very expensive. Perhaps resting on past laurels a little too much.

Great location and very friendly staff.
our room was a bit cold.

We were very satisfied with this hotel, the location was just perfect for our holiday trip. The staff was so helpful and couldn't have been nicer! The small size made us feel very special.
