The Churchill

Decent hotel. Clean. A little further away from Dupont Circle and the Metro station than I had wanted or anticipated. But if you don't mind a 10 minute walk to get to that area, then hotel is a good place to say.

Overall, it was a mediocre hotel. The staff was fairly accommodative.

I visited the Churchill recently with my children. This hotel is not family friendly. It was really overpriced. They are trying to fool people into thinking it is upscale because it is historic. The rooms are small and when I asked for a room with two double beds they said it would be an extra twenty dollars a night for that. Also, they only have basic cable which did not cut it after walking DC for eight hours with the kids. The good part was having a refrigerator in the room and the hotel was close to a convenience store where we could buy some basics. Dupont Circle is a fun and safe place to stay, so the location is great. I would just opt for a different hotel. I have stayed at the Hilton across the street with a much better experience. This was an excellent hotel. It was small, quite, you actually can sleep since there was an area between the room and the hall.

The Churchill is four blocks to the metro station and easy access to all the sites. Expect a lot of walking in DC no matter where you stay.

Hotel was comfortable and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. There were plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. I was staying at the hotel while in town on business and all my needs were met. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Lovely old restored property in great location. Nice comfortable rooms for my purposes, I would have like a more extensive gym and free internet in the rooms. Otherwise it was a great place.
