It was very convenient to downtown Sacramento.
Parking, it always had to be valet as on street was limited.
Very nice hotel, though they nickel and dimmed you had to pay for internet, and even thought I did not use the bar, I managed to get a charge when I picked up an item just to see what it was. It was still in the refrigerator when I left.(They did however erase the charge.)

Location.
Only one chair and a desk chair in the room.
This is a nice renovated hotel in downtown Sacramento. The area bustles during the day, but on the Saturday we were there the life on the street seemed limited to homeless and downtrodden people. Many of the storefronts around the hotel were boarded up. We were at the hotel for a wedding; both the ceremony and the reception were at the hotel. Our room was very nice, the small bath, well-appointed. We were having friends coming to our room before the wedding for drinks and there was no ice machine on our floor, so I had to go to an upper floor where the ice machine was located. I was unable to find it so enlisted the help of a staff member; when we found that it neither with his key or mine would open the door. He kindly went to room service and brought us some ice. Aside from the bed and nightstands there was only a desk to place things on and only two chairs in the room. A small table and additional chair would have been helpful. The restaurant, The Grange, is lovely and we were excited about eating there since they say they use many local ingredients in their cooking. We had breakfast there with our friends and found the food to be only mediocre. My omelet had too much egg and a rather sparse filling of mushrooms, onions, and cheese. Vicki's pancakes were not the best she ever had. Perhaps their dinners are better. Despite these small inconveniences, we enjoyed our stay here and the price we got through Priceline was excellent. At that price we would stay here again. read more

Too noisy late into the night from the hotel functions. The bass is pounding through the walls of the room even on the 13th floor. The rooms is supplied with ear plugs as standard for this reason. Would not recommend this hotel if you want a restful night to sleep.

Very attractive decor.
The room was very small and noise at night was ridiculous.
This hotel is decorated very nicely in both common areas as well as the actual rooms. Single rooms are very small, but the bathrooms are large and attractive. No used toiletries were replaced on the 2nd day, annoying to have to call room service for shampoo. Both nights that I stayed in this hotel there was a DJ playing very loud music in an establishment below me that could not be drowned out even with closed windows. I am not noise sensitive typically, but this was just ridiculous. I was disappointed overall that this hotel received the 4 star rating that it did. read more

The contemporary design of the rooms.
The Accounting!
The stay was amazing. The staff left a lot to be desired. They over billed my credit card and it has taken over a month to get my money back! I have had to nearly jump through hoops to get my money back and it has truly been a nightmare. Be careful when you hand them your credit card that they are only authorizing it not charging it!

Beautiful room, friendly, helpful staff!
Across the street from a popular park - noise!
We weren't sure what to expect from this hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised to find it conveniently located with lovely rooms and the friendliest, most helpful staff we've experienced in recent trips. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to travel to Sacramento who wants an upscale hotel with a friendly feeling.

I liked the decor and exercise room.
I did not like not having acsess to ice machine and no room in refridgerator for our items.
The Citizen Hotel was very nicely decorated with helpful staff. I did not like the lack of parking or the $25.00 fee for vallet. It is in a location with not a lot of restaurants near by. We had to walk several blocks to find a descent place to eat. I would not choose to go back.
