Hidden cost.

Great location for vacation. Historical charm surrounded by lots of entertainment. Using Priceline makes it affordable.

HIstoric location and atmosphere. You could tell that it used to be one of the best in the area.
Located on the outer edges of the downtown area, keeping it a little out of the way.

Great hotel with a hint of history. Building listed as a National Historic Landmark by the U.S. Department of the Interior. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Amenities were appropriate for the price. The outdoor pool is a little small but has a running waterfall that keeps things interesting. Ernie's, the restaurant/bar located just off the lobby, was seldom busy and not "happening" -- likely due to location compared to the other major bars and restaurants in the area. read more

Need bigger Beds/Pillows& Love chair to relax, Table.

Need comfortable matteress special matteres with people with bad backs table for 2 to seat and eat as a couple Love chair to relax and even that turns into an extra bed for a child.

The carpet is very dirty, will turn your feet black!

Every thing was fine, except the fact that my family had to wipe their feet before they went to bed because they were black from the carpet in our rooms!! thats pretty nasty! Other than that the place was fine for a family not wanting to pay the higher prices out there.

I liked the free internet and the true continental breakfast.
Has a narrow, almost hidden, entrance and no free parking.

The room was very clean and comfortable. It was bigger than other rooms in some other hotels.

The breakfast was horrible and the rooms were cramped, forget about needing a refrigerator , you will not have one.

The only good thing about this place was the location to attractions in san Antonio. I would not call the food that they had out a breakfast, I still haven't figured out what they used for the eggs. Out of a carton maybe.I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially for the price they charge. On top of that you have to pay to park your vehicle anywhere around the hotel. read more

Weekend staff not friendly at all. House keeping was noisy by 8am

The location was perfect, across the street from the Alamo and River walk and affortable restaurants. Size of the room was good and clean. Weekend Staff was rude, except for the valet parking staff. Weekday Staff was very friendly and professional.
