Service is always "top-notch" at this "grand", "historic" Colonial (a Marriott-affiliated property) built in 1931 on the grounds of the Ford Motor Company a few minutes from Downtown Detroit and "close to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village"; while "the history is great", the restaurants "consistently good" and the staff "pleasant", unimpressed guests say the accommodations and public facilities "could use some spiffing up" (luckily, it recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of the main inn, two lodges and five Colonial guest homes).

High level of quality of bedding / furnishes, etc.
Internet was very slow. Lounge staff was lazy and not deserving of a tip.

Excellent location. Small attention to detail was evident. Business centre was well stocked and easy to access. Internet access in the room was horribly slow. The lounge is very well appointed with overstuffed furniture and a large billiard table. The serving staff was downright lazy. We had to go to the bar to order our drinks. They didn't bother to check and see how we were doing. read more

The staff was very professional. Three wedding parties at hotel at same time.

We were very impressed with the friendly, functional and professional way they handled the large crowd. I understand that there were three different wedding parties staying at this hotel. Really liked the idea that the airport was so close.

I slept there with the love of my life for three nights.
Second day had to request housekeeping. Third day no housekeeping at all.

I spoke to a woman at the desk named Heather who seemed rather indifferent to my request for a king size bed and early check-in time. Upon arrival, these requests had been noted and we received them. The hallway could be a little noisy at times. We enjoyed the room and thought it was very clean except housekeeping didn't come until we requested it at 4:30 PM on day 2 and didn't come at all on day 3. Not good for any star hotel but especially for one that boasts a 4 star. The bed and linens were very comfortable. read more
