Public areas remain incredible to experience.
Room was small, had no WiFi access, seemed to have ants and coverlet on bed was old and did not appear to be very clean.
Since one of the travelers was handicapped and had to use elevators, circuitous route through banquet rooms was required and two banks of elevators made getting to room time consuming with long walks between elevators. Room was very small and only a queen size bed was available. There was no self-parking option offered and no ability to stay with bellman and luggage (due to placement of elevators). As a result, we carried sensitive luggage ourselves (computers, cameras, etc.). Parking at $25.00 nightly seemed excessive compared with past stays in downtown Austin hotels which have charged in the $16-18.00 range. read more

Top notch rooms.
The Driskall is the best experience you can have in Austin, the best location, the best room appointments and absolute top level look and feel to the hotel.

Beautiful, historic decor and
amazingly friendly staff.
My room was overlooking 6th St and was a little noisy.
The Driskill provided one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. Beautifully restored historic accommodations, deluxe black marble bath, on-site bakery and bar, and a staff that was cheerful and accommodating. I was visiting Austin for business but the Driskill makes me want to come back for pleasure.

Great location, beautiful decor and lots of amenities.
Hotel rooms and hallways are tiny.
Hotel was beautifully decorated, although is a bit dark due to the intended ambiance. Hotel rooms may need some updating. Bathrooms are too dark.
