Loved that a full American breakfast was included in the room costs.
It was a suburban hotel with a parking lot that charged for parking. I've never experienced that before.
The Summit is a nice old world charm sort of place with comfortable beds and great in-hotel dining amenities.

Old hotel, but maintained very well. Better than a chain hotel.
The elevator is slow.
This hotel has the charm of an old hotel, with the amenities of a new one (WIFI, etc.).

Lobby, town of summit, free 24 hour coffee, pillows.
Noisy the first night (wedding).
I would recommend this hotel. The prices are reasonable and the location is in excellent proximity to Newark Airport, NYC, etc.

Great location near he Hospital in Summit, NJ. Nice historic old hotel.
Hotel needs a new lobby renoavtion and some updating.
This hotel has a great location in Summit, NJ and is an old historic building that is a classic design. The rooms, though, beacuse of this are a little smaller and you open the front door and oyour right in the first bed. The Lobby is very outdated and could use some moderniztion and updating. Parking is close and free and had npo valet when i was there. coffee is free which is nice and I think breakfast was included. Workout facility is a little small and cramped which is not uncommon and stuffed into the basement. read more

Pretty facade, the town is beautiful.
Downstairs bar is dingy.
Room was small. Huge reunion party on last night of our stay - very loud. Do not stay on the second floor as we did (there's bound to be another wedding or event if/when you stay there), request a 3rd or 4th floor room and literally save yourself a headache.

Excellent location.
Bad food at their restaurant.
Very old building with some charm. Very well located and with a restaurant with a lot of space for improvement.

Very beautiful and historical and convenient for walking to restaurants, etc.
Nothing.
Beautifully kept, staff was very friendly and helpful, lovely historical atmosphere and very conveniently located within walking distance to downtown Summit, where lots of shops, restaurants, and the train stain are located. We had a wonderful stay!

The free breakfast buffet and the maid service.
Unexpected parking fee ($10), drunken partygoers filled the lobby both nights.
First, there is a $10 a night unexpected charge for parking. That aside, the hotel was a pretty period-style brick building and the breakfast buffet was nice. The rooms were older, but updated and well cared for. However, there were weddings both nights and the crowds milled around the lobby drunkenly, harassing my husband as he unloaded the car after we returned late in the evening with our infant. The lobby staff was very discourteous about handling the unexpected parking charge of 10 bucks a night. I actually don't think one front desk person smiled at me all weekend. read more

Somewhat noisy from wedding receptions.
We have stayed at the Grand Summit Hotel several times and we will continue.
