I like the Mendocino area.
The toilet was similar to a bus or airplane. Also it sprayed water out of the bowl, either on us or the floor.

Bathroom was horrible. The toilet was a bus or plane type, and it sprayed out water with each flush. The bed was uncomfortable. The heater was an electric wall unit, and would not stay at a set temperature. The room reminded me of a motel 6 that is old. There are much better rooms at other places for less money.

The view.
Restaurant and bar was closed for the season.

Moldy bathroom ceiling, dirt build up in the corners of the floor. Bathroom door paint was worn clean down to the wood. Heater was so noisy you could not sleep.

Loved the antique furniture, wallpaper, rose carpet and especially the ocean view.
My husband did not like the low lighting.

We stayed at this hotel before in a garden suite. It was an ocean view this time and delightful. The antique furniture and old world charm was very romantic. The only thing we missed was the restaurant which was not open this time of year. The surrounding area is full of places to explore and lots of places to eat.

The room was very clean and tastefully decorated.
The continental breakfast was bagels and weak coffee.

Everything was very clean and beautiful. The rooms were very spacious and ours had a fireplace. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great location and nice staff.
Decora needs upgrading, better continental breakfast.

Hill House Inn is in a great location but could use some TLC.

Very nice gardens and views.
Room decor could have been better.

Easy to access and plenty of parking, quite location and yet close to the heart of Mendicino. Staff was great!

The location was great and the price was terrific.
The toilets splashed water all over the bathroom and you when flushed. One male employee was very unfriendly, I heard others say the same.

The hotel was in a very nice location. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Orange juice even tasted watered down both mornings. They did not replace soap etc. The toilet splashed water all over when flushed.

It had an ocean view and was comfortably appointed. It was also pet friendly which was a plus.
The front desk gave us no info at check in and the continental breakfast of cold wrapped bagels, coffee, and a basket of apples needs some improvement.

It was comfortable and in a convenient location and the room was decorated in an old fashioned Victorian motif. The continental breakfast was not even worth wasting calories on. Go get a scone at the Albion Inn. The front desk told us nothing about what to do in the area and when we asked for a reasonable and casual restaurant in the area he said there weren't any. The room was fine but this was no frills. read more

Good location, friendly staff.
Room decorations were frumpy and old-fashioned.

This was a clean and sufficient hotel, but nothing terribly special. The staff was very friendly, and the location in Mendocino was great, but it was not much different than the typical chain hotel. The room decorations were a bit overdone (they tried for a Victorian style). The gardens were beautiful but small, and did not provide much of a garden view rooms. Overall, I would recommend the hotel as a comfortable place to sleep when staying on the northern coast. read more
