Description of The Kensington Close Hotel And Spa
What to expect: This large hotel occupies a 1938 building on a quiet side street across from Kensington Gardens. The tiled lobby bustles with vacationers, businesspeople, and international tour groups. The Long Gallery, an adjacent sitting area, is decorated with large modern artworks and contemporary chairs and sofas.

Amenity highlights: The Kensington Close Health Club, the hotel's health spa, features an 18-meter (59-foot) heated indoor pool, a spa tub, a sauna, a well-equipped gym with six TVs, and a studio where classes are held. Guests can relax with face and body treatments, including oxygen anti-aging facials and detoxifying body wraps.

Insider tip: The hotel has a well-hidden garden with large rectangular pond, surrounded by seats where guests can relax on fine days. Barbecues are sometimes held here on balmy evenings. A small, Japanese-style bridge leads to a kiwi tree, which produces abundant fruit in summer. The garden is open to guests except when a business meeting is taking place in the conservatory area.

Kensington Close Hotel and Health Spa is located in the fashionable Kensington neighborhood, within a few short blocks of upscale shopping and green parks. The on-site health spa, featuring an indoor pool, fitness classes, and beauty treatments, is available for a surcharge. Dining options include the Carvery, and the intimate Italian Connection. Marloes Bar is a popular, pub-style gathering place with large-screen TV and pool table. A 24-hour business center is next to the lobby.

Great location near tube in nice area of London
Laundry fees were expensive and nearest launderette was 10 mins away

Just 3 mins from High St. Kensington tube stop, the hotel is situated in a convenient location. Highly recommend the Muffin Man Tea Shop just one block away. Wifi available, full health club/spa available, comfortable and clean rooms. Just 5 mins from Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park for jogging. Would absolutely stay here again.

Clean and in good location
The room is not 3-star quality. The hotel may have 3-star features, but the rooms are 2-star quality at most.

Very small rooms.

Very nice hotel, less than 10minutes to Victoria station, at check in was given a 1/2 off coupon for their £12 breakfast. Rooms very small, but location made up for that.

Nice neighborhood. Close to High Street Tube station.
We arrived early a.m. and could not get in room until afternoon.

Our room was great. Very safe neighborhood for walking, close to subway or bus line, sightseeing, dining and shopping. Room clean and bright, compact with all needs. Comfortable bedding and bath. Coffee and tea in room. Big restaurant, but did not eat there.

Great location, Short walk to Tube.
Staff not as attentive as American Hotel Staff might be.

Worth the price. Secure location and easy access to Tube. Would stay again.

It was extremely reasonable pricewise, clean, and accessible from heathrow.
There was no regular cable TV, only 5 stations unless you wished to pay for a movie.

The hotel is small, but well built, very clean and run efficiently by a sharp staff. I enjoyed my stay very much and the rooms are a bit larger than those in other locations. The hotel is right next to the Kensington High Street tube station and adjacent to shopping and food facilities. I highly recommend this place and plan to stay there when I return to London again.

it was clean and in a good neighborhood
the staff barely spoke English, they were not polite, the TV did not work and they were not at all helpful

this hotel was very nice and clean for a basic three star. the problem is that the staff are not at all helpful and most of them can barely speak English. I tried to extend my stay on three occasions and had to wait for the manager to understand as none of the staff spoke English well enough to take my request. this is England and I see that request as reasonable. plus, the TV did not work and they do not have cable. the hotel was fully book so I could not change rooms. read more

spa facility, location
check-in was unpleasant

Great location, several shops and restaurants just around the corner. Excellent spa/fitness center. Rooms are rather small yet well kept. Excellent room service. Staff not particularly friendly. Overall, a very good deal.

Room was small but clean and nice.
So noisy that
I couldn't sleep.

This is the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. When I arrived, I was pleased with how nice the room looked, but after three sleepless nights I was more than ready to move on. It was a combination of noisy people in the hallways, noisy slamming doors, and (on the final morning) noisy construction in the hotel.

Very clean, spacious and conveniently located near the tube station
Didn't find a coffee maker (or water boiler) in the room. Had to call the front desk for that (or the Iron+Ironing board)

We stayed in three different hotels during our stay in London. This one was easily the best. For this price, it seemed liked a great deal. I wish we had stayed at this hotel for our whole trip.
