Bed was comfortable.
Loft suites were dumpy.

Quirky hotel with young staff. Some rooms are lovely and others are downright dumpy. Very uneven quality. Have stayed there many times. Staff is young but eager. Free breakfast helps the experience.

Historic Architecture.
Thin walls.

Did not get any sleep due to sounds from surrounding rooms, hallway and street noise until 4:00 a.m. Room also did not have any other seating other than the bed.

Lobby and courtyard area are charming.
Rooms are slightly shabby.

Charming hotel. The lobby, bar, courtyard are lovely and historic. Chic decor in the bar area. Nice bar staff. Free wine at cocktail hour which you can sit outside and sip. Very fabulous. The upper levels are not quite as nice. Rooms okay, small and slightly dated. Chipped paint. Nice new European type shower that flooded the bathroom floor because of lack of door. Big box TV instead of flat screen. Just not sleek. Pretty good bedding which they topped with the old style bedspread. I think they should strip off the bedspread, have them re-fabricated into big bolsters for leaning comfort and just expose the white linen duvets. Breakfast (which we got to in the last half hour of serving) was a mess. The presentation lacked. The food might have been good in the first hour but looked like no one had refreshed it and therefore, was quite unappetizing. The egg dish looked like it had artichokes and olive and would have been flavorful and unique but it was past its prime. read more
