The Majestic Hotel

The ambiance of the hotel was amazing. I was very impressed from my first step into the door. The staff were wonderful. I would have liked a little larger room, however, given the location across the road from Lake Michigan and located in a beautiful neighborhood close to supermarket, stores and restaurants, it was only a minor inconvenience. The only negative is that I would have liked a freezer with my refrigerator and a microwave so that I had a choice to eat in my room. Also, I was very surprised that such a nice hotel didn't provide an ironing board and iron in the room as opposed to the front desk. These are drawbacks for business travelers. My wife and I loved the quiet, neighborhood atmosphere of this small hotel. It blends in with the surrounding architecture and is close to wonderful cafes. If you are looking for a relaxing get-away this is definitely the place to go. Warm cookies and tea in the afternoon, continental breakfast in a cozy living room atmosphere. Don't miss this hotel.

This hotel was such a treat to stay at in Chicago. It felt like a cozy home away from home but so conveniently located to the Downtown that we had the best of both worlds. We were able to take the buses right downtown in a matter of minutes and access to two metro stops nearby. Great restaurants near the hotel and awesome customer service at the hotel.

We were very pleased with this hotel. The rooms were clean and attractive. The hotel is within walking distance to lake and Wrigley. It is very quaint and quiet. They also have a continental breakfast.

The Majestic Hotel (really like an inn) was such a pleasant surprise. I made my choice based on the hundreds of positive reviews and no one really captured the whole essence of the place. We walked easily to the Cubs game, the CTA (adjacent to Wrigley Field), found excellent restaurants just around several corners, we loved that this inn was nestled in an established, well cared for residential area and very near Lake Michigan. The rooms are kind of small but very clean and nicely furnished with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was nicely appointed and very clean. The only thing that bothered me is the shower head in our room was about 6' froom the floor and I am 6'3" tall.I've read some reviews complaining about the elevator. It is very small but the hotel is only 4 stories and they have two sets of stairs so it was no big deal. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accomodating. read more

My daughter and I loved our stay. The rooms were clean and we were always happy when we returned to the room at the end of the day. The maid service was excellent. The front desk was helpful with getting us a taxi reserved when we left. They also were helpful with giving us pamphlets of near by restaurants that delivered so we didn't have to go out at night. Overall nice neighborhood hotel nestled between apts/condos. Great complimentary breakfast in comfortable library room. Small room with noisy window air-conditioning unit. Light sleepers beware! TV too high tech and difficult to use.
