Skip, the front desk manager was the best and helpful!
The cost may have been a bit much for its size.

The continental breakfast was great!
The surrounding location wasn't scenic.
The inn was one of the best places I have stayed at for the value. The rooms were clean, the location was easy to get to and the grounds were actually very charming even though they were located next to a major highway. The breakfast in the morning was really good too!

This hotel has a very unique and coziness about it not found in chain hotels.
The only negative that I can think of is that the parking was a bit crowded sometimes but still doable.
This is a small motor court style of hotel with very nicely decorated rooms, a cozy and pleasant office and small eating area where a continental breakfast is served each morning. There is an upscale feel about it. I've stayed twice here and both visits were pleasant and comfortable. The office staff is very helpful and someone is in the office 24 hours a day. This is a unique place not found in many locations and a charming spot to stay in Portsmouth. read more

The room we stayed in had a little kitchen area which was an unexpected bonus.
The hotel had a clean appearance inside and out. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Atmosphere, and quality.
Odor.
We had stayed here once before and we loved it. hence the second visit. Place was great as usual, but Whomever cleaned or shampooed the carpet didn't realize that lack of air circulation in a room with a wet carpet on a hot day probably wasn't a god idea. But, I guess no one's perfect and I hope on my third visit I'm sure that will not be a problem.

The room was a little small but
I didn't mind too much.

The Port Inn is a very good motel for the price. It is better than several comparable motels in the area that charge more to stay. The only downside is its location, which is outside of downtown Portsmouth and not within walking distance. The surrounding environment is major roads with heavy traffic.

Clean, attractive decor, flat screen TV, micro/refrig, free Internet wired.
Nothing.
I will stay again the next time I need a hotel in that area. I was very pleasantly surprised with the rooms.

Friendly staff and easy to get to from highway.
The staff was outgoing and friendly. When we arrived they gave us one room with the ice machine right outside the door, when we asked for another room they did so immediately or suggested unplugging the machine at night. We would stay there again.
