Beautiful lobby and public areas.
Rooms are noisy. You can hear everything your neighbors do.

The location & restaurant were both wonderful.
Our room was small, cramped.
The hotel was great but our room was small, cramped & not as nice as I thought it would be. Hopefully they have other rooms that are nicer than the one we got.

The location to downtown St. Paul
Very un-modern accomodations and a nickel and dime mentality
Parking for the hotel was $18 a car. The room (two "queen" beds) was not very modern, comfortable, or spacious. Very underwhelming. The TV was a flat screen, but of very poor quality. Our view was of a roof of another building. There was no pool in the hotel. And all noise from the hall and people above and below you were heard through the thin walls and subpar hotel room doors. I would never pay the money to stay at this old and subpar hotel. read more

I really liked the assistance the concierge gave me during my stay.
The parking, I got a ticket.
This hotel was very attractive inside and out. The staff was very courteous and prompts with everything. I even me Louie Armstrong in the elevator. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to experience Downtown St. Paul.

Saint Paul is a beautiful and old city, you'll love it, and this hotel!
Perfect for a romantic night away from the kids for locals, or for 5 state out of toners looking for a special and romantic evening. The hotel is historic (spelled small rooms), but the service, hospitality, and surroundings are world class. Great restaurant choices within walking distance, and plenty of entertainment (theater, Excel energy) to keep you involved. And if you get lonely for home, there is a Starbucks (like there is everywhere) a 1/2 block away. read more

Very attentive room service staff.
Crowded lobby. Smallish bathroom.
It's a very nice hotel but not on a 4-5 star luxury scale compared with places in new York, Chicago, etc. would certainly stay again if business took me there, but wouldn't go out of my way to make the visit.

Almost everything.
Only one shuttle in service. No easy access (in hotel) to a quick meal (deli, etc).
Great stay, only downside, as a lone female traveler was not having easy access to a quick sandwich type meal. Hotel restaurant, St Paul Grill, was wonderful but not inexpensive. Would have liked to have been able to get a quick sandwich. This obviously isn't a big issue. Having only one shuttle did make transport a little dicey, but driver's went out of their way to accommodate. Would highly recommend this hotel. read more
